Harris Diversified is a family business.  Delores Harris, Rick's wife, has been a pivotal role in the company since the beginning.  She started by handling the office and customer relations.  Their daughter, Lindsey Harris Morrison, joined the team in 2006 to assist in the office and daily operations.  Family is extremely important. HD strives to treat each customer as part of the family.

Rick has well over 40 years of electrical experience and worked in the convention industry for 21 years.  His experience in the convention and event industry lead to a seamless transition into providing power for events and the film industry.

In 2002, Rick Harris was still working at the Cobb Galleria Center.  Bill Gunby, one of his long friends and business associates, asked if Rick could provide the power for him at the Nopi Nationals held at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.  He knew of Rick's expertise doing power for indoor events at the Georgia World Congress Center and the Cobb Galleria Center.  That spark lead to Rick creating Harris Diversified in 2003 and providing the power once again for the Nopi Nationals.  That event opened the door to HD providing the power for The Taste of the NFL in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida while the Super Bowl was held in Jacksonville, Florida in 2005.  We have since provided power and temperature controls for 6 Taste of the NFL events all over the country.

Harris Diversified continued to grow and add more events to their schedule each year.  At first HD was hired on by various tent companies to provide the power for the film industry.  In 2007 they were hired directly by "The Blind Side".  That was the first film of many to come, but it will always have a special place in our hearts.   Each film lead to a greater understanding of what this industry needed.  Temperature controls were added next, then light towers, globugs, chillers and so forth. As of 2020, HD has worked on more than 400 feature films, televisions series, and commercials.
